a day in the life

i have to pee badly right now, but i will hold it until this post is complete.
recent music:
  all of the ethiopiques series
matmos- supreme balloon and civil war

i am writing about ticks, how to count them, predict their spread, assess their relationship to lyme disease prevalence, etc.  never realized how few nymphs survive to become adults.  they have so many babies that i guess the most fit have a big impact on the populations.  i once had a tick attached to my chin, it reminded me of the fake grapes that you could attach to yourself using the power of suction.  this then reminded me of a strange movie with chevy chase where he is a manager for a fake fruit company where he decides to but bruises on the bananas so that they seem more real.  Those factories must exist, and designers must decide the dimensions and color schemes for these faux fruits.

no one will know

no one will know that i blog, because i didn't five minutes ago.  i wonder how typing as opposed to journaling effects the kind of things we would write in a personal memoir of sorts.  I made a mix cd, for many people.  here is the track list:

Martin Denny-Quiet Village
Faust-I've got my car and my tv part 1
Sohail Rana-Soul Sitar
Evergreen Blueshues-Walking Down the Line
Four Tet-Spirit Fingers
Yaz- Situation
The Upsetters- V/S Panta Rock
Delroy Wilson- This life makes me wonder
Tobacco- Yum Yum Cult
Mulatu Astatqe-Yekermo Sew
Alex Chilton- Boogie Shoes
Various Artists- Synchro-Charles De Goal
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark-Messages
Gary Numan-Trois Gymnopedies
King Crimson- Moonchild
Lee Hazelwood- Pray them Bars Away
Perry Como-Until Today
Yes-Sweetness
Eric Malmberg- Milda Doden Hamtar Oss Alla Ti
Patti Page- Tennessee Waltz
Belbury Poly-Willows
Amon Tobin- Keepin it Steel
Iggy Pop-Tiny Girls

at this moment the cd defines where i am in life, as any mix does when it is made.  It is probably more accurate to say that where I am in life defines the music or that my condition brings about the relationship i make between the music and my life.
Maybe i can stick to science or music blogging.  Those aren't as confusing or personal.  About the mix quickly: Belbury Poly's "Willows": listened to outside of airport in London waiting for plane home from trip in Germany.  Almost made me cry happiness by the way it moved me.  "Moonchild" and "Sweetness" by King Crimson and Yes are both in one of my favorite movies, Buffalo 66.  There are two other great tracks from that movie: Stan Getz track and a cover of fools rush in by vincent gallo's father.  "Trois Gymnopedies"- originally an Eric Satie composition redone by the king of synthesizers.  Joy Division's frontman, Ian Curtis, committed suicide while listening to Iggy Pop's album the Idiot which includes the track "Tiny Girl".

More music, science, or personal matters to come..maybe.
